Families First Awards
On Saturday 25th March 2023 staff from across our Nursery and After Schools attended the Families First Awards in Titanic Belfast.
We were delighted to win an award for Outstanding Nursery providing care and development for Children. As if this wasn’t enough; there was a special recognition award for Belfast YMCA Nursery Manager Valerie Andrews who retired at the end of March after working for 28 years in childcare.
Belfast YMCA have been providing childcare in Belfast for over 30 years. We currently care for over 190 children each week across our nursery and after school services in South Belfast. Our mission is to empower children and young people to learn, grow and thrive while providing a service that supports parents through flexible, affordable and high quality care.
We received dozens of parents nominations towards the awards judging panel - read below to hear what some of of parents had to say:
”YMCA is one big family - all my kids as well as my husband and I love the place. Everyone is warm and inclusive. They can’t do enough to help out and take care of our children. They go above and beyond and make the kids feel so loved and special.
We know our children are in safe hands and they know everything about our kids - they’re not just a number, they’re part of the YMCA family. There’s lots for the children to do, facilities are always being looked after and updated and they keep the parents up to date regularly with what’s going on.
They constantly seek feedback on how to improved services from parents and do extra things for the kids like Christmas shows, walks out and about, baking, party days. We love the place and so glad to have found such good people to take care of our children on our behalf.”
”Affordable and flexible to suit a working family’s needs that can do drop off and pick up from our Primary School by foot - we love it!!”
“Amazing outdoor space for our 5 & 3 year olds for fun imaginative play with their friends - like playing in the street when us parents were young! Our children feel safe, loved and supported to grow here.”
