Belfast YMCA junior parkrun
We are thrilled to announce the successful launch of our Junior parkrun, which took place on January 14, 2024, with an impressive turnout of 45 enthusiastic children taking part. This exciting initiative aims to promote health, fitness, and community engagement among the younger generation while fostering a love for an active lifestyle.
About Junior parkrun:
The Junior parkrun, a 2k flat timed course, unfolds every Sunday at 9:30 am, offering a fantastic opportunity for children aged 4 to 14 to engage in a fun and friendly running environment. The grass course, encourages physical activity, teamwork, and healthy competition.
Inaugural Success:
The inaugural run witnessed an energised gathering of 45 children, each displaying remarkable enthusiasm and vitality. Families, parents, and supporters gathered to cheer on the young runners, creating a vibrant atmosphere at the event. The overwhelming success of the first week emphasises the positive reception and the growing demand for such fitness activities in the Stranmillis community.
Community Spirit:
