Youth Unify - A weekend in Prague

Hi. I’m Andy Campbell and I am on the Connected Youth Apprentice programme at Belfast YMCA this year.

In late February, I had the privilege to join a group of faith-driven, youth-focused leaders who gathered in Prague to plan, pray, and explore how to help young people grow closer to God and to each other.

Our goal is to create a summer camp this August where young people can explore Christian faith, build friendships, strengthen their identity, and feel equipped to serve.

Over five planning sessions, we worked as a multi-lingual, multi-national team—shaping the camp’s purpose, organising daily workshops, planning evening activities, and setting up prayer rhythms.

We also took time to explore Prague’s historic sites, enjoying the old-town atmosphere and early spring sunshine. We finished the weekend by sharing one challenge we’re facing and one blessing we’re thankful for—building trust and connection as a team.

Our weekend was encouraging and productive. There’s real value in seeing strangers become friends through a shared purpose.

We’re now reaching out to young people, sharing the vision behind Youth Unify, and recruiting a team of young leaders to represent Ireland.
